What do you love most about cooking?
Cooking allows me to express myself creatively. It’s my “me time” where I can go into the kitchen and simply be. I tune out the world and enjoy the smells, the textures, and the art of it all.
Best cooking tip or advice you’ve ever received that you want to pass on to other home chefs?
It’s important to know to add seasonings. You can’t just throw everything together and expect to taste every flavor. You have to build flavor and allow every ingredient to shine!
Insider kitchen tip everyone should know?
When cooking, never overcrowd your pan. Just cook your food in batches—overcrowding makes food soggy, and it takes longer to cook thoroughly!
What is your favorite secret ingredient that instantly elevates any meal?
Nutmeg. It can be used in savory and sweet dishes and is truly the unsung hero. When used in small quantities, it adds such a beautiful flavor. A close second is thyme—another ingredient that can be used in sweet and savory recipes that adds such a unique flavor!
