Classically styled with a polished stainless steel exterior and a satin finished interior, the Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 3-qt. Chef's Pan is designed with three layers to ensure even, consistent heating. A heavy-gauge aluminum core surrounded by stainless steel provides excellent heat conduction for browning and searing, while giving you enhanced control of the cooking process. With a rounded bottom and tall sides, this versatile pan comes in handy in the kitchen. It has an open shape for easy stirring or whisking plus the volume needed to create sauces, soups, or risottos. Includes tempered glass cover.

Use & Care

  • Oven Safe: Oven & broiler safe
  • Recommended Stove Tops: Gas, Electric, Electric Rings, Halogen, Glass Top, Induction
  • Utensils: Nylon, Coated, Wood or Metal

Dishwasher safe. However, we recommend hand washing to preserve the luster of the stainless steel. Hand wash using a liquid dishwashing detergent such as Dawn® and a non-abrasive sponge or soft bristle brush. Use Cascade® for automatic dishwashers. To restore the shine to the stainless steel, you may also use Bar Keeper’s Friend® cleanser (or other polish made especially for stainless steel) and a non-abrasive sponge or soft-bristle brush.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for sauces Although called a "Chef's Pan," the classic pan that this comes closest to is the saucier. It's shorter and wider-mouthed than a regular saucepan of the same capacity, and the curving sides mean you can use a whisk for stirring without any sauce "hiding" in an unreachable corner as might happen in a saucepan. It's a bit specialized, but I find it the best tool for some tasks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just like a mini Wok! I had been using this Chef's pan for the past 4-5 years. It's excellent, don't stick and easy cleanup. When you have a small amount of food to stir fry, this is better than a Wok.
