Kahlua Mousse

Kahlua is a rich, dark brown coffee liqueur made from the finest Mexican coffee, with fine cane spirits and a hint of vanilla.  The richness of this smooth mousse is sure to impress guests.

1 c. heavy cream

1/2 tsp. instant coffee powder

1/4 c. Kahlua® liqueur

2 Tbsp. plus 2 tsp. sugar, divided

1 egg white

chocolate curls for garnish


Chill medium bowl and beaters.  Combine cream and coffee powder in chilled bowl and beat until soft peaks form. 

Add Kahlua and sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.

In a small bowl, beat egg white until soft peaks form.  Gradually add 2 tsp. sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.

Fold egg white into whipped cream mixture.  Transfer to dessert bowls, cover and chill several hours or overnight. 

Decorate with chocolate curls.

Note: May be chilled in a 1.5-qt. soufflé dish, if you prefer.
