Frozen Mango Margaritas

Sweet and sour, these frozen drinks are easy to make.  For an even smoother finish, use top shelf tequila such as Patrón Silver.

Ingredients

2 lime wedges

coarse sugar

1/4 c. tequila

2 Tbsp. orange liqueur (such as Triple sec)

1 6-oz. can frozen limeade concentrate, thawed and undiluted

3 Tbsp. powdered sugar

1 c. frozen mango chunks

2 c. ice cubes

Directions

Using lime wedges, moisten rims of four glasses.  Sprinkle thin layer of coarse sugar in shallow dish or rimmed plate. Holding each glass upside down, dip rim into sugar; set aside. 

In blender jar, combine the tequila, orange liqueur, limeade concentrate, powdered sugar, mango and ice. 

Cover with lid, press power button and then “Smoothie” button. Serve in prepared glasses. 

For “Mock Mango Margaritas”:
Substitute 1/3 c. lemon lime soda for the tequila and orange liqueur.  Reduce the powdered sugar to 2 Tbsp. 

Makes about four 3/4 cup servings or two 1 1/3 cup servings.
