Social get-togethers around a fondue pot were very popular in the seventies. Today, fondue fountains and fondue restaurants are the rage. But making your own chocolate fondue is simple, delicious and relatively inexpensive! Electric fondue pots make it easy. They come with fondue forks and instructions so there's no guesswork. Before you know it, you'll be dipping everything from marshmallows to pound cake, and pretzel rods to fresh fruit chunks, and reveling in the fun of it. Note that the "35% cream" in this recipe is a "whipping cream." Whipping creams are 30%-36% milkfat. "Heavy" cream is 36% and over. Our recipe uses the cream with less milkfat.
