Chocolate Frosting

Made-from-scratch  and simple to do. The result is a rich chocolate frosting, or filling or piping. Delicious on your cookies, cake and cupcakes. Show your creative spirit! Cookie sandwiches? Between graham crackers and freeze? Put leftovers into a plastic bag and freeze for a snack later!

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1/4 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder
3-1/2 cups confectioners sugar

Directions

In a heavy saucepan, combine butter, milk, vanilla and cocoa powder, and heat over medium heat, stirring continuously, until the mixture is smooth.

Remove pan from the heat. Whisk in the confectioners sugar, 1/2-cup at a time, mixing until smooth after each addition.
